This was the console for a Howe drive-on scale at an old grain elevator. When the elevator was modernized, it was removed, the paint was stripped, and it was varnished. It has been in the family's front room since then. We've tried to take enough pictures so you can see all the character marks on this piece, indluding the mouse hole at the bottom of the back. The scale arems and slide wieghts are all solid brass. This great looking piece of farm history is about 53 1/2" high by 52 1/2" long and 10 3/4" wide. It weighs about 225 Lbs.

Most of the things you see in our store have never been owned by a collector or been in an antique shop. They have come straight from the families and farms that have used them and stored them away in their attics, barns and woodsheds for decades. They are real things that were used by real people, so they are not going to be perfect. You should expect them to have character. When we describe the condition, we mean compared to anything else that old. I will do my best to point out, either in the description and/or pictures, anything I notice that to me is significant. But, I can't mention every little thing. So, please look at the pictures and read the description carefully. If you need different views in the pictures or you have any questions, call or E-mail me before you buy. We will be happy to reply. We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. Our items are offered as a piece of history for collectors to be used for decoration or display. We don't represent that they will do the job they were designed for years ago, so once you buy them, how you use them is up to you.
